Nurse Roxie

Roxie brings more than 17 years of nursing experience across adult and paediatric care, spanning hospice, community, and emergency settings. Her background includes senior nursing roles in the Emergency Department at Middlemore Hospital as well as emergency nursing experience in London where she developed advanced skills in assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making in acute and high-acuity environments.
Nurse Roxie is currently completing postgraduate research through the University of Waikato, focusing on advocacy and advance care planning and carer burnout. She also leads The Caring Conversations Project, an initiative that supports professionals and empowers families navigating complex and palliative care. Its focus is on improving early communication and coordinated support.
Outside of work, Roxie enjoys being creative, especially upcycling her op-shop finds. She loves bush walks, snorkelling, and taking road trips with her daughter around Aotearoa.
