Dr Susan ‘Sue’ Johnson

Dr Johnson is originally from the UK where she attended Edinburgh Medical School. She has worked in the UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and out at sea.

Dr Johnson completed her emergency medicine training in Auckland and gained experience across all of the region’s major hospitals, before taking up a consultant position at Middlemore Hospital.

In addition to her work in the hospital ED, Dr Johnson also works in prehospital and retrieval medicine. She has worked with the Northern Rescue Westpac Helicopter team in Auckland and NSW ambulance in Sydney. Dr Johnson takes special interests in trauma, pre-hospital and retrieval medicine, and education.

Outside medicine her interests include mountain biking, wake surfing, hiking, running.
