Cate Thorley

Registered NurseRN BN PGDipHsc

Cate possesses an advanced nursing skill set as well as operational management prowess. She has recently stepped away from her Clinical Nurse Manager role and has moved into the acute triage clinical team, which she was instrumental in forming and leading over the past few years. Cate played a vital role in successfully integrating telehealth consults into a number of healthcare settings - including emergency departments, Hato Hone St John ambulance services, rural primary clinics, and the national rural after-hours service.

Cate is driven by a genuine passion for quality healthcare and is an advocate for nursing excellence and equity. Her twenty plus year nursing career has spanned both sides of the Tasman and both acute and primary care – but the majority of her practice has been spent in Emergency Care (in senior clinical and management roles) here in Aotearoa.

Born and bred in the rural King Country, Cate now calls Waikato home. She has a genuine love for people, community, and environmental sustainability and spends her spare time in the bush hiking, growing things, or at the beach.
